Metamorphosis Process: Part 2

We are now entering into a new beginning, new day, new manifestation, and new season where we are moving from cocoon (to) caterpillar (to) butterfly. But, before we can move forward in our personal, professional and spiritual lives we must understand that there are some areas that are prematurely developed and poorly maintain.

This is the time we need to focus our attention on the developmental stages of our spiritual life in which we can view through the metamorphosis process of a butterfly. This is also known as transformation seen as a change in habits of an animal during normal development after the embryonic stage. It is a great change in one's appearance or character. Also, this process brings forth a great and usually sudden change in the conditions and habits of some animals during transformation from an immature stage (as a caterpillar) to an adult stage (as a butterfly).

The apostle Paul says, we are works in progress because our transformation goes from the old to the new which oftentimes results in a struggle. All of God’s creation is overflowing with living attributes corresponding to the divine principles of life and struggle. Look at the transformation of a monarch from larva to butterfly, a supreme work of nature.

In order for the butterflies to emerge successfully, they had to change locations. This will occur when the caterpillars spun their cocoons. There will not be enough room inside the original container for the butterflies to emerge. The same is true in the spiritual, for God alone is the one who transforms our heart and life into something brand new, we must be willing to change our external situations. What this means is after you became a born Christian, you must pray and ask the Lord to give you strength to separate you from old friends and relationships that we hindered your growth in the Lord. Oftentimes, our former friends will not allow you to follow Christ, and they will try to tempt you to go back into the old life behavior and lifestyle. There may be many who are reading this blog, could be in this metamorphosis stage in your personal, professional and spiritual life. In order for you to be “successful” and follow this new path the Lord has placed before you, you must be prepared to change location (either literally or symbolically); so that God can change you circumstance and situation. You may have some friends you need to distance yourself from in order for you to grow in your relationship with Christ? Are there places you need to stop going? Are there attitudes and character traits you need to allow the Lord to change? Please don’t allow Satan to trick you into thinking that you can stay exactly where you are when God is trying to move you into your next blessing, breakthrough or miracle, so He can transform you into someone different for your level of spiritual advancement.

You are a new Christian (or a believer), immature babe in Christ and unwise in your walk with the Lord. You may be in an unknown place during this rough season of development in life. Just remember, the key to growing stronger is to keep look to the hills from which comes your help, because all your comfort and support will come from the Lord. You need to make a decision to find someone who is more knowledgeable and mature in the Word of God; and allow them to come alongside you; so that they can guide, instruct and lead you into the next phase of your spiritual development. This is not the time to let the devil deceive you into believing that you can do this without having a spiritual guide or mentor. Everyone on this spiritual journey will at some point need some else who is more spiritually mature to help assist them on how to successfully navigate their life and willpower. “As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend” (Proverbs 27:17).

The renewal of the Christian’s mind is a continual and daily process, in which transformation are difficult and sometimes painful. The more the world is ingrained within us, since he more difficult the change will be. However, if we remain in our “comfort zone” this will only keep us disconnected from God’s supernatural provisions.

The spiritual metamorphosis will help you begin your new birth in Christ Jesus and assist you into moving into the newness of Christ. there is a process that leads to spiritual maturity, as you grow you will become a part of the disciple making process that has been orchestrated by God's design for your life.

Old things have passed away. The “old” refers to everything that is part of our old nature: natural pride, love of sin, reliance on works, and our former opinions, habits and passions. Significantly, what we loved has passed away, especially the supreme love of self and with it self–righteousness, self–promotion, and self–justification. The new creature looks outwardly toward Christ instead of inwardly toward self. The old things died, nailed to the cross with our sin nature.

Old, dead things are replaced with new things, full of life and the glory of God. The newborn soul delights in the things of God and abhors the things of the world and the flesh. Our purposes, feelings, desires, and understandings are fresh and different. There is a difference between continuing to sin and continuing to live in sin. No one reaches sinless perfection in this life, but the redeemed Christian is being sanctified (made holy) day by day, sinning less and hating it more each time he fails. Yes, we still sin, but unwillingly and less and less frequently as we mature. Our new self hates the sin, in which still has a hold on self. The difference is that the new creation is no longer a bond or slave to sin, as we formerly were under the old nature (law). Today, we are now freed from sin, since it no longer has power over us. “knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin” (Romans 6:6-7). Now we are empowered by and for righteousness, also we now have the choice to “let sin reign” or to count ourselves “dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus”. “Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts” (Romans 6:11-12). The new creation is a wondrous thing, formed in the mind of God and created by His power and for His glory.
