CHAPTER ONE -
AGE OF APOSTASY:
Unmasking the Jezebel Spirit, Chapter One, covers the Age of Apostasy, and it was a nation whom God has called to be His own turned against Him. they exchanged their worship of God for the idols of a people they had once conquered in His name. The king who ruled Israel was the son of a man who gained his kingship through assassination. From Ahab, whose name was the synonym for “evil.” Behind the corruption of Ahab’s throne was a woman, Jezebel. She had hopes in expanding her power by marrying Ahab, she brought destruction on the children of Israel. This destruction cam through her fanatical devotion to the false gods: Baal, the male deity of power and sexuality and Ashtoreth, the female goddess of fertility, love and war. Baal and Ashtoreth, rituals involved depraved and licentious sexual practices and abominations. The worship of these idols appealed to the bestial and material elements in human nature. More than 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophetesses of Ashtoreth served Jezebel's depraved and carnal desires. Human lives were often sacrificed to appease her pagan deities. Against this abomination, God raised up the prophet Elija who challenged. Ahab and destroyed the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel. As a countermove, Satan raised up his messenger to silence God's prophetic voice. It came through Ahab's wife - Queen Jezebel.
We are living in an age of apostasy. Our society has turned its back on God, sin has infected the Body of Christ and its leaders. Satan is raising up a fierce opposition to this prophetic generation. The enemy has always sought to silence God’s prophetic voices and abort intercessory prayer. its name is Jezebel, a diabolical spiritual force that seeks to deceive, defile and destroy God’s authorities. While the term “Jezebel spirit” is used in some charismatic circles, few people truly understand how this demonic force operates. A Jezebel spirit is a celestial power that has worldwide influence. It is not simply a demon that possesses an individual. It is a demonic power in the heavenly realm that transcends specific geographical boundaries and also affect nations. Jezebelic powers operate in conjunction with principalities and powers that torment people. “”(Ephesians 6:12). These demonic powers include spirit of religion, manipulation, control, lust, perversion, and the occult. These spirits often work in concert with a Jezebel spirit to build strongholds in a person’s mind. Therefore, when a Jezebelic stronghold is established in a person’s mind, now define this as “coming under the influence of a Jezebel spirit.” At the moment this occurs, the individual’s rational and even reasoning process will become and begin deteriorated; also his or her thoughts and actions become distorted.
Just, like a computer virus, a Jezebelic stronghold is programmed to manifest when certain keystrokes or situation do arise. The virus also influences the activity of others in the afflicted one’s network. A Jezebel spirit, also like a virus is designed to shut down the network and kill be host, as well as anyone who does not disconnect from the host. This is a brief illustration which parallels what happens in the Kingdom when an alien force, a Jezebel power source is downloaded into a church. Its goal is to disable and destroy individuals, ministries and the entire church. This will be the results unless God’s remedy, a divine antivirus is applied. On many occasions, we all have been vulnerable to being influenced by this controlling and manipulating power. And, opening our soul to operating in a Jezebel spirit is a process that occurs over time, and there are no clear-cut indicators of when a person steps over the line. The longer someone operates in a controlling and manipulating way without repenting, the stronger this spirit grows. The Lord Jesus longs to set us free from what ensnares us, for all of must look at our own sinful natures, as well as that of others, with compassion and hope.
