21–Day Intercessor Prayer Challenge

The Warfare of Prayer:

On this Christian journey we have an enemy, which we must use prayer to help us ward off his daily attacks.“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [a]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV). We are called to do spiritual warfare through prayer over Satan’s strongholds, wicked devise and wiles of darkness. Satan will usually attack us most in our greatest areas of strength, however, in our areas of strength we tend to rely on self and often find ourselves burning out from fighting our battles alone. Every area of your life is subject to enemy attack, so you must fight on your knees before you can stand on your mission fled. Jesus had to battle with Satan through prayer for His ministry and divine purpose. There is no doubt that spiritual warfare is real. Christians have an enemy in Satan and his demons. Prayer is commanded in the context of putting on the armor of God. “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18). Some things recommended by warfare prayer adherents are useful. That said, some warfare prayer techniques are unbiblical, and believers should take great care not to be led astray by man’s opinion about how to pray versus God’s command.

You’re in a spiritual battle in this world. You may not see it, you might forget it’s there. But the enemy would love nothing more than to start your year off with discouragement and defeat, bringing fear and stress. You must stay faithful and prayer so that He doesn’t win. As, believers we are to be salt and light in a dark world, daily you may have to encounter or face spiritual warfare, which are obstacles and attacks the enemy hurl against children of God. God reminds us in His word to stay aware of Satan’s schemes, to live alert in this world, and to stay close to Him. Spiritual warfare is the Christian concept of fighting against the work of preternatural evil forces. Prayer is a common form of spiritual warfare among Christians. Warfare prayer commonly encourages a take control attitude, where prayer warriors are told to be bold, decisive, and faithful in prayer. Prayer is not just a call to war, but it is also an invitation to rest in the Lord.

Prayer Defeats the Powers of Darkness:

Matthew 17:20; 2 Corinthians 10:4-5; James 5:16-18;

The power of prayer should not be underestimated. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again, he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. God most definitely listens to prayers, answers prayers, and moves in response to prayers.

Prayer Helps Us Have a Successful Life:

Nehemiah 6:9–16; 2 Corinthians 1:3–4;

There are benefits in successful prayer life it helps us maintain peace of mind while walking in the spirit of holiness and righteousness. Prayer helps us have comfort and strength when facing challenges, struggles, trials and tribulations.

Prayers Helps Increase Our Faith Through Wisdom:

Luke 6:12; James 1:5

If we pray for wisdom, God can use his holy spirit to guide us to make wise decisions. Even Jesus felt the need to ask his Father for help when making important decisions. The Bible tells us that when he wanted to select the 12 men who would serve as his apostles, “he spent the whole night in prayer to God. We too can experience God’s guidance by praying about matters that could affect our relationship with him.

“Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” Matthew 16:16-19 (NKJV).
