Faith over Fear 8-Week Challenge

During this challenge be must continue to believe faithfulness is one of God's unchanging attributes. Therefore, it means that He always does exactly what He says He will do and responses to our needs according to His spoken and written Word that is in accordance with His nature. He can never deny Himself, so when He promises to "sanctify us entirely" He will do just what He said. "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify[a] you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it" 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (NKJV). We can truly count on Him to make us more like Christ each and every day we walk by faith and not by sight, even while He may use the painful seasons of life to do so.

For He's unchanging and so is His promises. When we believe this, that God's immutable means that He's unchanging in his being, perfections, purposes and promises. So, His being, His nature, His essence, His perfections, to the signficiant degree to which He possesses those characteristics, His purposes, what He has determined to do, and His promises. That's not to say that God doesn't relate to us in a dynamic, relational, personal way. So, he listens to our prayers. He grieves over our sin. He delights in our faithfulness. And so, it's been said that God is essentially immutable, but relationally mutable. There's a degree to which he adapts what he's doing to our relationship with him, while at the same time maintaining his essential attributes. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them" Hebrews 13:8-9 (NKJV).
