Faith over Fear Challenge Special Message

Our Anchor In Times of Storm – Dr. Charles Stanley: (Isaiah 40:8; Psalm 119:105)

Wind and Wave Obey Jesus:

“Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Matthew 8:23-27 (NKJV).

Because, we live in a fallen world, we are always going to have to face storms. Some storms are self-created, some storms come from the enemy and some storms come from God to allow our faith to be tested. First reason for the storm, God allows storms to come in our life to get our attention bring us back into fellowship with Him. Second reason or the storm, He trying to bring us to a place of repentance. Third reason for the storm, He is trying to rid and remove the sinful lifestyle or nature from our life. Fourth reason for the storm, the Lord is trying to get us to have renewed and transformed mind. Storms can destory you or develop you, when storms come it's the time for you to seek God and ask for His will to be done, so that we can continue to walk by faith and not by sight. Matthew 8 tells about the time when Jesus Christ and His disciples were on a boat in a raging storm. The disciples’ fear and Jesus’ response remind us that God will help His followers survive the tumultuous times in our lives. In the message Our Anchor in Times of Storm from the classic Life Principles series, Dr. Stanley highlights Life Principle #3 and discusses that the key to surviving any difficult situation is to cling to God.
