40-Day Corporate Prayer and Fasting

Spiritual Detox Allows for Self-Evaluation of Secret Sins: Our greatest temptations come not from without, but from within. Our heart’s secret sins give birth to almost every evil deed and gradually enslave us. Sin disguises itself: pride can be seen as conviction, self-sufficiency as industriousness, fear as attentiveness, skepticism as discernment, timidity as humility, and the list can go on and on. In order for us to grow in the things and ways of God, we must shed ungodly behavior and mannerisms, immoral thinking, and corruptible interactions with others. Spiritual detox will help us take a self-evaluation of secret sins that keeps us from continuing on or walking down the path of righteousness. Spiritual Detox is a natural outcome of personal growth and enlightenment. May we act and regard ourselves as always in the Lord’s presence, for what is continually before our eyes is what shapes us. If our gaze is locked upon the Lord in the struggle, pain, and change, we will be anchored and not disturbed by fear. “ Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer”  Psalms 19:12-14 (NKJV).

Secret sins hinders our usefulness to God is not our lack of energy, time, gifts, or resources, but our sins. It is sin that distorts our thinking, feeling, deciding, and doing; sin that clouds the glory of God in our lives; sin that diminishes our authenticity and compromises our spiritual effectiveness. Also, secret sin destroys our spirit as much as public sin will. Secret sin will destroy our relationships, fellowships and ministries as much as public sin will. The level of sin is not in how much it is exposed to others or not. For as long as it grieves The HOLY SPIRIT, it destroys our spirits and strengthens the flesh. Remove every ungodly thing, even that which is a secret to us. Scriptures To Help With Spiritual Detox - It's Time To Take Self-Evaluation Against Secret Sins:

Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin Psalm”  51:1-2 (NKJV).

The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings ”  Jeremiah 17:9-10 (NKJV).

I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!  So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin” Romans 7:21-25 (NKJV).

“Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God ” 2 Corinthians 7:12 (NKJV).

And do not grieve the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice”   Ephesians 4:30-31 (NKJV).

Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” Hebrews 4:11-13 (NKJV).

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded” James 4:8 (NKJV).
