Spiritual Detox is important because it helps us cleanse everything that can defile our body or spirit, which is done by confessing and turning away from the sins that pollute or soil us. Paul also challenged believers to “work toward complete holiness” because God is holy and just. Harboring negative emotions can hold us back from our potential in life and can also impact our health. Such as bitterness, child trauma, emotional pain, regret, guilt, anger, fear, loneliness, grief, hate, unforgiveness, worry, etc: deep down inside our lying a whole bank of accumulated emotions that spreads throughout our entire body. All emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual baggage from the old man's nature, even when we are still babes in Christ. A spiritual detox can help when you feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. Over time, life takes a toll; and a spiritual detox can be just the fresh start you need. It's a time to cleanse your mind, body, and spirit for a well-earned reset. A spiritual detox is about getting rid of the old nature mindset and immoral behavior of the world system. Clearing out bad thoughts and ideas will encourage new man, so you can feel more prepared and ready to walk in your true identity in Christ. It will also help us have improved spiritual clarity and focus so that we can maintain peace of mind for better decision-making, and a sharper focus on our goals. “ These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the [a]Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ ” 1 Corinthians 2:13-16 (NKJV).
A spiritual detox encourages introspection and self-awareness, allowing you to identify areas for personal and spiritual growth, especially in the area of one's faith. A spiritual detox is important because it allows you to intentionally release immoral behaviors, ungodly thoughts, and overwhelming emotional patterns that can accumulate over time. It will help lead us to have a clearer mind, a renewed sense of purpose, and enhanced overall well-being by creating a rejuvenated mindset that allows us to have a deeper and more personal relationship with Christ. Spiritual Detox will also teach us how to detox from the weights, hindrances, and challenges that hold us back from living on purpose. It can help us receive the open doors to new depths of mental and emotional wholeness that God has released to us. Also, brings us into a lifestyle of total health: spirit, soul, and body as we seize the joy of life. Lastly, a spiritual detox can be a powerful and transformative process that can help to improve our overall health and well-being so that we can continue to walk by faith and not by sight. It will also help us resist the wiles of the devil and worldly temptations. “Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore. For great is Your mercy toward me, And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol” Psalm 86:11-13 (NKJV).
