A Servant's Heart Is God's Secret to Greatness - Part Five

Jesus Served with Dignity and Delight: Dignity is something we expect of royalty, but we rarely associate it with servants. Jesus was a king, but He was also a servant who served with dignity and delight. There were many great servants in the Bible, none of them considered service to God or to others to be a drudery, it was divine delight for them to serve.

Joseph delighted to serve Pharaoh.

Ruth delighted to serve Naomi. Jeus delighted to serve His disciples.

Elisha delighted to seve Elijah.

Timothy delighted to serve Paul.

David delighted to serve the things of his God. "Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass" Psalm 37:4-5 (NKJV). Sevanthood should not just be something we do; however, it should be something we are. When this happens, we can commit ourselves to God's principles of sacrificial service and allow Him to change our "spiritual DNA", in which changes and transformes us into anointed servants of God.

Serving God is one of the most important principles of the Christian faith, as believers are expected to help the church with a joyful spirit. “Love one another.” “Care for one another.” “Pray for one another.” “Encourage one another.”Help one another.” “Counsel one another.” “Support one another.” We must remember that serving others may not always be easy but we will be rewarded in eternity. Secondly, we must remember that nothing is too small that God will not use it. Nothing we do for God is in vain!

A true servant serves with faithfulness and joy, because spontaneous and jouful servants bring refreshment and new strength to those they serve. As true servants, we should always serve with a spontaneous joy so that our service of love continues to be a dignity and a delight. God is interested in servant leaders, since Jesus, the Son of God became the ultimate example of selfless servant leadership in action. "And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For eventhe Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, andto give His life a ransom for many" Mark 10:44-45 (NKJV). To develop a servant’s heart, you must begin by being in the right alignment with God. And, recognizing who you are in relationship to who He is, while allowing Him to expose any pride that you may have. God’s kingdom operates differently from ours. Jesus came as a servant, providing a living, breathing example for us to follow of how we are to treat others. In God's economy, if we want to be great, in which having a true servant heart is the key. The more you recognize who you are in relationship to Him, the more you can and will embrace the spirit of humility. Embracing humility is a daily practice, it can't be done over tonight or at one time. By doing so, you’ll keep your heart in alignment with the Holy Spirit. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your path" Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV).
