God Is Preparing You for a New Season -Day 3:

“Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years” Genesis 1:14 (NKJV).

It's time to trust the Lord during the process. Consider those in the Bible. For a season, the Apostles of Christ were together all the time. After Jesus ascended, they were sent on their separate missions into God's calling for them as individuals, as they focus on their divine purpose. Some companions are meant for the entire journey, but some just a portion of it. Be mindful to ask the Lord to your conscience that those you keep company with are those He has for you. God made a perfect plan when He gave us time and seasons. He declared that the time and seasons should remain so long as the earth remained. Your time on earth matters and His timing is perfect, be sure to watch for the parts of His plan for you. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV).

Have you ever found yourself in a waiting season? A time where you’re waiting for change, hoping for something new, or counting down the days? Times of transition can uncover worry, stress, and fear. Our spiritual lives, marriages, and friendships also experience seasonal changes. There is great freedom in knowing who God has for you in each season. The good news is, God wants to use those seasons to prepare you for the things you’re waiting for, as well as things you don’t even know are coming. The only constant in life is change. You must put total assurance in the Lord if He moves someone from your innermost circle, there is a purpose that He intends to fill moving forward. Time and seasons are in God’s hands, we just need to trust that He knows when and what is best. Time is running out and since you are still here on earth that means that you have some work to do. The Bible says that we need to redeem the time because the days are evil. “Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” Ephesians 5:16-17 (NKJV).

Keep in mind before heading into a new season, there is often a call to let go of something or make room so that something new can be ushered in. This could manifest itself by letting go of possessions, making more room in the literal space you are in. When things start happening out of the blue - new opportunities arise that you weren’t looking for, new relationships or connections happen that you didn’t see coming - that’s usually a sign that God is giving you the first few steps toward your new calling or season. the beauty of a new day. A new morning. New mercies awaiting us. We see that they are new every morning, thus acknowledging that we are on this journey and it’s not a one-time fix all. Today is a new day! Let’s be grateful! Often our physical surroundings have implications on our emotions in having room to breathe. In the same vein, we will often find ourselves called to purge former habits. “Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us” 1 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV).

Several ways God uses waiting to prepare you for your new assignment or season. When you embark into new seasons in your life, it’s not just the circumstances that God wants to make new, but more importantly it is YOU that He was wants to make new. Just like old wineskins would burst if you put new wine into them, if you try to drag your old self into a new season, the pressure would be too much. God uses your waiting seasons to bring renewal and change you from the inside out. You need waiting seasons to focus on God and purpose, so that you can experience His power and direction. If you’re careful to not obsess over the things you’re waiting for, then you can find that space in your life and soul to seek God and grow closer to Him. Waiting is a prime time to seek God because when you’re waiting, you can embrace times of stillness where you slow down your body and mind and come to God ready and open to hear from Him. New seasons and circumstances are exciting, but they can also be very distracting.“Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved Matthew 9:17(NKJV).
