Her Beginnings
K
imley began her journey at the age of 10 when she surrendered her life to the Lord at a VBS while longing to learn about this Father who might help her heal following
the death of her father at the age of 9. She was baptized at the age of 11 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida, by the late Fred L. Maxwell, who became her spiritual grandfather in ministry.
Her Education
Reverend Slaughter studied Human Behavior Psychology at the University of Central Florida. In addition to attending the P.A.R. Behavioral Learning Center to study the Nature of Human Aggression. Also, she has completed Be Successful in Your Ministry I earning a Diploma in Practical Theology, and Be Successful in Your Ministry II earning a diploma in Advance Theology, through International Seminary. She obtained her BS in Theology and Practical Bible Studies from the International Seminary in Apopka, FL in 2007. In addition, she was certified as a Global Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Currently, Kimley is enrolled in Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) master's degree program.
Her Church Accomplishments
She worked as the late Dr. Fred L. Maxwell's Executive Personal Assistant at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida, in 1990. She served as Youth Leader, Girls Scout Troop Leader, JMA President, Member of the Women Council, and volunteer on various women's committees at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando, FL from 1996 to 2018.
In 1997, she founded the Sisters of Tranquility Support Group with her local church to empower and support domestically abused women. The next year, she began street evangelist training with the late Pastor Zachary Tims of New Destiny Christian Center in Orlando, Florida.
Sisters of Tranquility became My Sisters Keeper at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida, in 2004, supporting women in Orange and Seminole Counties with spiritual counseling and ministry love seeds.
At the 65th Church Anniversary Program on March 18, 2012, she received the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church's first Pioneer Award for her passionate and dedicated service with the Girls Scout Troop.
She worked as a Housing Rehabilitation Specialist for the City of Orlando, assisting low-income applicants to receive partial and full housing constructive restoration, so that their homes could be restored to healthy and useful living conditions, as well as overseeing the bi-monthly "My Home" Training Class for approved applicants. She was also a Community Liaison for the City of Orland's Housing Rehabilitation Department, as well as the Department Spokesperson for the City Council Board.
In November 2017, she was appointed to the ministerial clergy at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Miami Gardens, Florida, by Pastor Arthur Jackson, III.
Reverend Kimley has had the honor of being mentored by several matriarchs and patriarchs, including Mother Mary Lee of Ebon Temple, Inc. in Orlando, FL; Mother / Pastor Mildred Easton of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando, FL; Pastor Jonathon McKnight of Sanctuary of Praise in Orlando, FL; and others.
Her Work Accomplishments
​Reverend Kimley worked in the field of behavioral counseling for 12 years with Substance and Alcohol abuse individuals, as well as mentoring children, youth, and women between the ages of 6 and above. While being employed at a local women’s residential facility for 7 years, and implementing the first Life Management Skills Training Program, in conjunction with an offsite vocational program through Mid-Florida Technical Institute, and a GED program sponsored by the Frontline Outreach Center, both in Orlando, Florida.
As an active volunteer at the Coalition for the Homeless for six months before being persuaded to be the permanent Intake Supervisor, she evaluated and screened individuals and families for temporary residency at the facility.
She was also a part-time employee at the C.R.Smith Frontline Outreach Center, where she assisted the Program Director in offering counseling and training to impoverished youths and unwed mothers.
Her Ministry Accomplishments
She began full-time ministry in 2000 as a spiritual counselor and mentor, teaching women how to be effective in ministry through empowerment and encouragement from the Holy Spirit's guidance and leading. She began speaking at women’s prayer luncheons and working as a conference host for women's workshop training during this time, which lasted until 2005.
Between 2007 and 2016, she began training other young adult female professional leaders to create women’s ministries around the United States.
My Sisters Keeper was officially renamed Women of Excellence, Rising Above the Norm Inc. in 2014.
“Joy Comes in the Morning but Not Before Peace”, her debut novel was released by Creation House in 2008. She also became a licensed Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and founded K. L. Slaughter Ministries, Inc., a non-profit religious organization that provides counseling, financial, and spiritual assistance to Christian women. Dr. Rolous A. Frazier Jr. congratulated her with an honorary Church Bulletin in recognition of her new book in 2009.
K. L. Slaughter Ministries, Inc., Women of Excellence, and Pastors and Spiritual Leaders Pages on Facebook were founded in 2018 to help build and network women and other spiritual leaders while walking in their divine vocation and purpose in Christ Jesus.
​As of 2023, she is still serving as CEO/President of K. L. Slaughter Ministries, Inc., which has helped over 1800 women with emotional support, financial blessings, mental drive, and spiritual encouragement so that they can continue to walk in their divine calling and profession in accordance with God's will for their lives. Kimley is able to combine professional and personal leadership abilities with compassion and goodwill. She pursues the Lord through prayer on a daily basis: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" Matthew 6:33.
