1997

The "Sisters of Tranquility" was created as the 1st Women's Empowerment Group at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church to provide emotional and spiritual support to women who were experiencing abuse and trauma in their homes and the church. We assisted nearly 44 women in crisis and encouraged them to build sisterhoods through faith-based friendships.

1999

We changed our name to My Sisters Keeper and continued to support women in their local communities. Meetings were held at local libraries in Orange and Seminole Counties, serving over 150 women bi-monthly. We worked with women coping with emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual challenges and provided financial support for expenses such as utilities, mortgages, and rent. We also provided funding for single mothers to purchase school clothing and Christmas gifts and served over 350 families with meals for Thanksgiving. Overall, we aimed to help those suffering in silence and provide support in various ways.

2014

The Women of Excellence group has officially changed its name to Women of Excellence Rising Above the Norm. It is now a spiritual support network that helps empower and encourage women in their divine calling and purpose. We don't belittle or mistreat each other, instead, we offer continued scriptural advice and spiritual counseling to help women cope with emotional baggage, mental shortcomings, physical infirmities, and spiritual strongholds.
